In the Grey is a thriller set in the world of high finance, in the space between the black-and-white of law and disorder. Source: Australian Catholics.
Quotations come to mind, “the love of money is the root of all evil” and, for players like mercenaries, playing “for love of the game”.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, who has created film worlds largely focused on men on both sides of the law.
This time, however, the main player is a woman, Rachel (Gonzalez). And, in the corporate world, she confronts a female executive, played incisively by Pike.
But, in a man’s world, Rachel still has to be rescued!
The villain is the dictator, Salazar (Bardem), with his own island, army, yacht and plane. Salazar is a wheeler and dealer in finance with a crooked lawyer and murderous henchmen.
But, Rachel also has her team, two buddy mercenaries she has rescued from prison, loyal to her – Sid (Cavill) and Bronco (Gyllenhaal). Both are cool in crises, always smart and ready to rescue Rachel.
And, all this is necessary, because Rachel will confront the dictator.
An action show made for entertainment, In the Grey dips into the world beyond most people’s imagination with weapons galore.
