The National Council of The Association of Ministerial Public Juridic Persons (AMPJP) has this week elected a new executive.
The association brings together the Ministerial Public Juridic Persons (MPJPs) of some of Australia’s major Catholic health, aged and community care and educational organisations.
This umbrella body allows the trustees of these MPJPs to interact formally with leaders of the Catholic Church in Australia and, importantly, to support each other in their key leadership roles.
Patrick Cooper was elected the new chair of the AMPJP Council.
Mr Cooper is the chair of trustees of Catholic Healthcare and the Diocesan Financial Administrator of the Bathurst Diocese. He has recently served as treasurer of AMPJP, while also a director and company secretary of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst Ltd and a director of Catholic Education IT provider CEnet Ltd.
New AMPJP deputy chair David Robinson is the chair of trustees of Calvary Ministries.
Mr Robinson has extensive accounting, taxation and business expertise. He is a chartered accountant, registered auditor and partner of ESV Accountants and Advisers based in Sydney.
From 2009 to 2017 he was an inaugural trustee of Mary Aikenhead Ministries, has served on Catholic Schools NSW Limited and is currently chair of the Advisory Council of Christian Brothers High School Lewisham.
Incoming treasurer Margaret Bounader is the inaugural chair of Mercy Ministry Companions.
Following a senior executive career, spanning 25 years in international trade and investment, Ms Bounader has enjoyed a long association with Mercy ministries She has served as a non-executive director of Mercy Health for ten years, with Mercy Health Foundation for eight years, and most recently as a member of the Finance Committee of Mercy Education.
In 2018, she was appointed to the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Catholic University.
Mr Cooper thanked outgoing chair Moira Najdecki “for her time, commitment and inspiration” as the chair of AMPJP. He also thanked Liz Vinning for her guidance and wisdom as deputy chair. Ms Vinning continues to serve as a member of the AMPJP Council.
