Mike Christensen (Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT)

Catholic aged care organisation Southern Cross Care (NSW and ACT) has appointed Mike Christensen as its new board chair. 

Mr Christensen has been a member of the board since 2021. He brings extensive experience in finance, property, and governance, having successfully chaired the finance, audit, and risk committee and property committee. 

His leadership is expected to be instrumental as the organisation embarks on a new strategic journey. to drive growth, innovation, and excellence in care over the next three years.

Outgoing chair Lawrie Hallinan will remain on the board as a director.

In his four years as chair, Mr Hallinan strengthened board governance, recruited new directors and a chief executive officer and guided the organisation through the challenges of the COVID pandemic. 

“This is a pivotal moment for Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT),” chief executive officer Monique Reynolds said.

“With the approval of our new strategic plan, we are well-positioned for future success. Mike Christensen’s leadership, combined with the ongoing support of Lawrie Hallinan and our highly skilled board, will be crucial as we implement our strategic initiatives and enhance the services we provide.”
